Welcome to MOTO Health Care

It has been an eventful year since MOTO Health Care’s registration with the Council for Medical Schemes on 3 October 2008, and a number of milestones have been reached as part of a continuous effort to comply with the Medical Schemes Act, Act 131 of 1998.

Moto Health Care has successfully determined a new brand for the Fund that will appeal to both employers and employees. In addition, the benefit offering has been transformed to make it easier for both current members and potential new entrants during the option selection process towards the end of the year.

Some important administration aspects have also been changed to improve the overall operational efficiencies and service delivery to members. Moto Health Care is pleased to announce that with effect from 1 January 2009, the Fund will be partnering with Momentum Medical Scheme Administrators (MMSA) who will be responsible for the administration and managed care services offered to members of the Fund.

New benefit options

Moto Health Care introduces five totally transformed benefit options, which will make it easier for members to select an option that best meets the healthcare needs of them and their families, while at the same time making it possible for them to stretch their  healthcare Rand further.

To accommodate the improved benefits, the Fund had to review contributions to align contribution rates with the benefit offering. The decision to increase contributions is never easy, but Moto Health Care remains competitive and the first choice of medical aid in the industry.

MOTO Health Care has always realised the importance of regular communication with members. This includes communication about the new benefit offering for 2009 to enable members to make an informed decision about the most suitable option for their and their families’ healthcare needs. Members have received a Summary of Benefits and an Option Selection Form. If you have not received this  communication, which was widely distributed during November 2008, please contact your employer. Please note that the cut-off date for all option changes is 10 December 2008. Option changes received after this date will not be processed.
